Word for iPad: How to View, Edit and Create Documents

Word for iPad Tutorial

Thumbs up computer key
In March 2014, Microsoft launched Office for iPad. I got very excited and went ahead and downloaded the Word App. I wanted to write a nice post about it.
Very soon my excitement completely disappeared. This new App only allowed the user to “View” Word documents. To Edit and Save documents you needed to purchase an Office 365 monthly subscription…

Towards the end of 2014, Microsoft updated the App and allowed its users to View, Edit and Create Word documents for Free.

This post has been recently reviewed (in 2017) and the current terms are 30 days free trial to view, create and edit but after 30 days, you will need an Office 365 subscription to create and edit documents.

I have been playing with iOS 8 on my iPad and iPhone for some time now. Without a doubt one of the most useful features released with iOS 8 is Continuity. And with it, the possibility to make and receive cellular phone calls from the iPad through the iPhone.

Organizing Photos by Faces on iPad

A few days ago I received an email from a reader asking me how she could organize pictures by faces or names on the iPad. I immediately thought about the “Faces” feature available on iPhoto which recognizes faces and allows you to add their respective names.

After researching a bit more I found out that this feature is only available on iPhoto for Mac. It is not currently available on the iPhoto App for iPad.

Before you lose your iPad

A few days ago, I got a call from a friend asking for help. She had lost her iPhone and wanted to know if I could help her find it. I asked her if she had iCloud set up on her phone. The answer was no so there was not much I could do at that point. The story has a happy ending anyways. Luckily, she went back to the gym where she had worked out earlier that day and calling her phone while looking around she was able to find it.
I immediately thought: I should write a post and teach my readers how to take preventive measures against a situation like this one!

I have always loved music. I even took electric keyboard lessons for a short time when I was a boy. Of course, this does not qualify me as a musician but at least my love for music is there, right? ;-)

What about you my dear reader? Are you an amateur or experienced musician? Have you ever used the iPad to actually produce music?

Free language learning on iPad with duoLingo

Bonjour, est-ce que vous parlez français? Habla español?
In today’s society, it is a great advantage to be able to speak more than one language! Personally, I am fluent in Spanish and in English whereas my wife is fluent in English and in French. How about you?

Some time ago I wrote an article about translation Apps for iPad. Although translation Apps are convenient and useful in different situations, it is not the same as truly mastering a language, being able to speak it, read it and write it.

Instead of relying on software packages and audio courses that teach you a new language, why not try a language learning App on the iPad? Porque no probar un App para aprender idiomas en el iPad ?

Money management is a good skill to learn no matter what is your age. Our modern society offers many opportunities to make money as well as ample opportunities to spend it. I remember one of my former university professors used to say, “The more we earn, the more we spend”.
