Create folders in iPad

If you have been following my blog for the past several months you may have downloaded plenty of new iPad Apps. With so many Apps, things can get messy, disorganized and hard to find. Fortunately, iPad lets you create folders where you can store Apps organized by title or subject.

Today I am going to discuss how to create folders in iPad and complement my explanation with a brief video.

Applicable to:
iPad versions: iPad, iPad 2, the New iPad, iPad mini, iPad with Retina Display
iOS versions: iOS 5, iOS 6 and up

It takes 3 easy steps to create new folders.

Step 1

Tap on an App icon until it starts wiggling or shaking. In this example I’ll be using the Valentines Apps presented last week.

Step 2

Tap, hold and drag the App icon on top of another icon. A folder gets created. iPad suggests a name for the folder but this name can be edited.

Step 3

Edit the folder’s name and tap Done. Then, tap the iPad home button.

In a similar way, you can add more Apps to the new folder.

If you have not created any folders on your iPad so far, you may want to give this a try and get yourself organized. There will be more Apps coming that’s for sure… ;-)
